So the seminal debut release from The Art of Noise gets another re-release! This is the fifth time I've bought this! First on vinyl, then it was included in the compilation Daft (minus the original version of Beat Box) then with the release on Repertoire Records (albeit with the incorrect Diversion One version of Beat Box), then it was included in the AWHYDWMBG collection, and finally here it /5(54).

The Art of Noise. ZTT/Salvo have brought together the unreleased Worship album, and the debut EP Into Battle, to form the 27 track compilation called simply Into Battle with the Art of Noise. Worship follows Into Battle on this new release so the running order of both is preserved. The 9 track Into Battle EP remains essence of Art of Noise.

The Art Of Noise haben etwas geheimnisvolles, zeitloses, das dieses Projekt auf eine Stufe mit Kraftwerk stellt, ohne gleichzeitig so steif und ernst zu wirken. Es gab schon eine CD mit dem Namen "DAFT", die die Tracks von "Who's Afraid Of The Art Of Noise" enthielt, aber wie in den 80ern üblich, ziemlich lieblos und ohne Zusatzinfos /5(99).

However, their earlier phase is definitive - in rhythm and melody structure, taking Cabaret Voltaire's cut-up technology steps further, forcing Kraftwerk down on their knees, providing additional sound tricks for Laurie Anderson, jogging along Telex, being obscure in the wake of The Residents, /5().
