16 years since it first dropped, Theo Parrish serves a reissue of his Methods of Movement masterclass, coherently weaving together disparate strains of dance music ranging from Level 42 thru First Choice, Luther Vandross, James Brown, George Benson, Tony Allen, Larry Levan, Tullio De Piscopo, among many more, with idiosyncratic style and nuff EQ tweaking.

Feb 17,  · Seiji: The way the booth was set up, as a DJ you were right in front of, if not on the dancefloor, and that massive sound in such a small room was almost too much. The space had something special.

The connection between music and movement is described by the RAS technique as the manner in which rhythm influences muscle control and provides predictable cues for movement. The RAS has improved balance and gait in stroke survivors (Thaut et al. ) and those with traumatic brain injury (Hurt et al. ), and Parkinson disease.

Review: Since its' initial release back in , Theo Parrish's Methods Of Movement mix has attained cult status. 16 years on, the set has lost none of its' potency, or for that matter its' ability to entertain. An exercise in classic dancefloor eclecticism, it offers a sprint through dusty disco, soul, funk, Afrobeat, boogie, Detroit techno.

“Methods of Movement” is a mix that is 15 years old, blending in more obscure tracks of old soul, house, Afro-beat, and disco. We just love these mixes from the “pre-computer” dj era, filled with tiny imperfections but so much more personality and soul than most DJ mixes these days which sound like they were created and conceptualized.

I tend to do 16th closed hats going constantly and off beat open hat or shaker with maybe some delay to give more movement. Sometimes rides on the 1st and 3rd beat. I'm trying to see what people have tried and like so to get some new ideas. 8 comments.
