Oct 31,  · In the end, Stories from the City ends up just slightly to the right of the dead middle ground. A shame, too, since Harvey once used space and dynamic to make exciting music.

Here, Track 6, The Whores Hustle and the Hustlers Whore, is where I started to notice the album, and the next song with Thom Yorke really pulled me in. I loved the rest of the songs, which made me enjoy the earlier ones on repeat. A lot of albums front load their works with the best. For me, this was an album that truly improved as it continues.

PJ Harvey - Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea "Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea" was very highly rated by music critics and PJ went on to be the first female to win the Mercury Award in for it. The album was inspired by PJ's six month stay in New York City. I bought this album once. I put it in my CD walkman.

Jun 03,  · I love that PJ appears to be a, quote, "DL favorite" -- lots of threads for her on here. OP, sometimes, the first cut is the deepest. This was the first PJ album I owned as a teenager. I was a huge Radiohead fan and so, This Mess We're In, was my "in" too the world of PJ. It probably remains my favorite album of hers.
